Introducing Petite Noir. The Congolese born, Camden lad started making music in the church before discovering Kanye West’s 808’s and Heartbreak. Enter to Petite, plugging away on Abelton 10 hours a day trying to make it work for him. What he found was an experimental edge to use in conjunction with African-blues guitar grooves, deep bass, and multi faceted percussion.

His EP titled The King of Anxiety which came out in January, is inspired by the struggle of life living in Camden and the societal pressures to exist without falling into the trappings of rebellion.

For now, he has his eyes on the prize. He wants his genre, his own coined brand of “noir wave” (new wave with an african aesthetic) as he puts it to reign supreme. He believes it’s only a matter of time before mainstream artists try to work it into their music. He may be on to something there…

The forthcoming full album titled La Vie Est Belle / Life is beautiful, out September 11.
